SENIOR EXECUTIVE, INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP CENTER

Reports to: Manager of IEC

Position Overview:

The Senior Executive of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) will play a key role in the operational support and execution of IEC programs and events. Working closely with the Manager, you will be responsible for providing logistical, administrative, and programmatic support to ensure the successful execution of programs and activities. You will manage day-to-day operations, coordinate with stakeholders, and contribute to the delivery of innovative and impactful services for entrepreneurs, students, and the wider ASB community.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions**):

Program Execution Support:

  • Assist in the execution of IEC programs, including coordinating logistics for workshops, boot camps, accelerators, and other entrepreneurship-related activities.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of materials, resources, and program content.
  • Ensure the smooth operation of on-the-ground activities, from registrations to follow-ups, during IEC events and programs.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely information flow and support.
  • Manage relationships with key partners, including students, faculty, external mentors, and guest speakers, ensuring their involvement in IEC activities.

Administrative and Logistical Support:

  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings, coordinating event logistics, and preparing documents and presentations.
  • Assist with budget tracking and provide reports on program expenses, ensuring efficient resource management for IEC activities.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Help monitor the success of IEC programs, including tracking key metrics, collecting feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Assist in preparing regular reports on program activities and impact, ensuring transparency and alignment with program objectives.

Event and Activity Management:

  • Take responsibility for specific aspects of event management, including registration, resource preparation, speaker coordination, and event setup.
  • Ensure the timely execution of events and programs, contributing to a positive experience for all participants.

Qualifications & Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, entrepreneurship, innovation, or a related field.
  • At least 1-2 years of relevant experience in an administrative or support role within innovation, entrepreneurship, or a related field.
  • Experience in event coordination, program support, or administrative functions in an innovation and entrepreneurship center, co-working spaces, or a start-up accelerator environment is an advantage.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to assist in maintaining relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail in documentation and correspondence.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other office tools to support administrative and event management functions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A keen eye for detail and ability to follow processes and procedures accurately to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to contribute to various aspects of the program’s success.

General Description

  • To lead in coordinating the general research activities of the research project, including assisting the research center Faculty Director on project planning and management.
  • To manage and plan the research project, budget and expenditure together with the research center management team.
  • To lead in reporting research project activities to grant provider and senior management.
  • To lead, manage and monitor the research project administration, including the research project management, publication process, workshop organization and event organization.
  • To manage the promotion of the research project and research activities in the research center.
  • To participate in the general management activities of the research centers together with the research center management team.

Minimum Qualification and Skills Required

  • Excellent command of English and Malay (spoken and written) – both in research writing and also on business writing. 
  • Excellent general administration and Project Management skills.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft office software and other project planning tools.
  • Excellent organisational and collaboration skills, strong team player that can lead and delegate to teams.
  • Self-motivated to initiate, operate and manage multiple different operations in the research project and research center.
  • Timely and detailed-oriented in managing operations and administration.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years working experience in relevant field.

Remuneration

The base salary will be in the range of RM5,500 to RM6,500, and EPF, SOCSO and insurance will be included.
