Analysis of empirical data on culture and innovation in Asian societies:

The position will be housed at The Asia School of Business (ASB)*, a collaboration between Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and MIT Sloan School of Management. The project (EPICS, originally at NUS Business School in Singapore), has collected a unique set of data on an Asia-centric approach to understanding team and national culture influences on innovation in entrepreneurial teams. The analysis and publication of this worldwide unique data set will be the task of the 2-year post-doctoral position, in cooperation with a number of scientists across the world (in Singapore, China, Germany, and me at Asia School of Business in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia).

What we expect from you: Excellent statistical methods competence, shown by having participated in complex (and if possible published) studies. Interest in creativity and innovation in entrepreneurial teams. Good knowledge of psychology or related disciplines. You will be passionate for research and have a very good educational background.

What you can expect from us: You will be working with one of the most cited entrepreneurship researchers in Asia and Europe and you will be working with others in a highly innovative and interesting team of scientists. You will be able to co-publish several articles in excellent journals. Others who have worked with us as post-docs are now professors and we hope that will also be true of you.

Depending upon your interests, your qualification profile, and your specific needs, your work can be done either on campus in ASB or partly from home with occasional visits to ASB. Thus, flexible work arrangements are possible. An office space is available at our new campus. Kuala Lumpur is an exciting environment and the city belongs to the 10 most attractive cities in Asia, providing excellent value for money, with a world-class infrastructure and a vibrant multi-cultural environment.

Please send your application with supporting documents (c.v., sample of publications, copy of PhD certificate and grades) per email to: The secretariat Ms Jacinta Anthony at
