CAREER DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE

Position Overview:

The Department
The Career Development Office plays the role of the ‘matchmaker’ between the MBA students and potential employers. For the students, we cultivate awareness about their career options, impart to them the lifelong skills needed to market themselves successfully, and maximize their career opportunities. For potential employers, we assist employers in their efforts to effectively recruit our students.

The Role
To provide administrative support to the Career Development Director and Manager in the execution of their roles.

General Descriptions

Program Management

  • Assist to manage career services for ASB students, to include a significant focus on relationship building with Faculty and staff

Students-related activities

  • Maintaining a dossier of ASB students (e.g., appointments, background, interviews, offers)
  • Manage the execution of data entry and collection aspect of benchmarking of the market and industry updates
  • Support the coordination of CDO related events and activities including Career Core, CDO Plus activities, Corporate Presentation etc. calendar
  • Lead support for CDO related travels including being responsible for smooth coordination of logistics

General

  • Design and manage responses of CDO surveys targeted for students/employers/alumni
  • Coordinate editorial work of CDO publications (newsletters, biotables, resume books etc.)
  • Provide CDO content support to stakeholders for respective information requests
  • Provide administrative support to Director and Manager
  • Coordinate scheduling & planning processes in relation to CDO’s events and meetings
  • Lead administrator to process financial claims and payables
  • Support the set-up of events (e.g., invitations, RSVPs, logistics)
  • Support the engagement and coordination across ASB departments where necessary
  • Such other duties that the Office may need from time to time.

Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of education and work experience
  • Strong written, oral and listening skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Must be consistent in work performance and meeting deadline
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Minimum SPM Mathematics A+, A1 or Equivalent

General Description

  • To lead in coordinating the general research activities of the research project, including assisting the research center Faculty Director on project planning and management.
  • To manage and plan the research project, budget and expenditure together with the research center management team.
  • To lead in reporting research project activities to grant provider and senior management.
  • To lead, manage and monitor the research project administration, including the research project management, publication process, workshop organization and event organization.
  • To manage the promotion of the research project and research activities in the research center.
  • To participate in the general management activities of the research centers together with the research center management team.

Minimum Qualification and Skills Required

  • Excellent command of English and Malay (spoken and written) – both in research writing and also on business writing. 
  • Excellent general administration and Project Management skills.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft office software and other project planning tools.
  • Excellent organisational and collaboration skills, strong team player that can lead and delegate to teams.
  • Self-motivated to initiate, operate and manage multiple different operations in the research project and research center.
  • Timely and detailed-oriented in managing operations and administration.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 5 years working experience in relevant field.

Remuneration

The base salary will be in the range of RM5,500 to RM6,500, and EPF, SOCSO and insurance will be included.
