ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH
Overview

To be an active member of the research office within the Asia School of Business (ASB), where the research office serves to plan, organise and operationalise research management and dissemination in the Asia School of Business. The research office is aimed at research development, planning, administration and dissemination for the Asia School of Business, working within the research cluster and also across the different departments. The Assistant Director’s role is crucial in establishing the research office as a node for research-related activities. As the founding member of the research office, the Assistant Director will also be a key member in developing the processes of the research office and research management.

General Descriptions

General Administration Planning & Operation

  • To be a part of the senior leadership of the research office in the development of the research office and research management processes for ASB, including on establishing the administration of the office, the processes for research management and the dissemination processes for research.
  • To actively participate in planning the annual research activity strategies with the leadership of the research office and research centers for the research activities in ASB.
  • To manage and supervise Executives, Senior Executives, Managers and Senior Managers in the research office.

Research Administration & Advisory

  • To assist in advising Faculty and research center research project proposals aimed at grants and or industry by in ASB, including on advising and facilitating administrative processes between ASB & external party.
  • To assist in creating, maintaining and facilitating new and existing research-related processes for finance and accounting, manpower and human resource, and contract and legal.
  • To assist in collecting data for research activities in ASB for the purposes of national and international accreditation, together with the Internal Quality Assurance team and the KMC.

Dissemination & External Engagement

  • To assist in the external engagement for the research activities for ASB, including
    engaging with private, public and civil society.
  • To lead in facilitating the dissemination of the research activity and output together with the research centers, Faculty administrators, Marketing and the Knowledge Management Center in.
  • To assist in building strategic research alliances with other nation, regional and international research institutions and universities.
  • To coordinate with the research centers and Faculty administrators on the operation
    of events.
Minimum Qualification and Skills Required
  • Excellent general administration and Project Management skills.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft office software and other project planning tools.
  • Excellent skills in using Microsoft office software and other project planning tools.
  • Excellent organisational and collaboration skills, strong team player that can lead and delegate to teams and departments.
  • Self-motivated to initiate, operate and manage multiple different operations in the research office
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • 5 years or more of strong research administration and research-related experience, or equivalent experiences.
  • Graduated with a Bachelor degree (or equivalent years of experience).
