Biography

Dr. Lin Sakrawathi joined ASB in November 2020 as an academic associate. Before joining the ASB team, she worked with one of the Big-4 global accounting and audit firms in the division of People & Change, handling the talent management and recruitment for the business performance services unit. Lin’s passion for connecting people with the right career ignited her interest in pursuing a PhD to understand employee engagement and Gen Y retention factors as her main research topic for her PhD studies.

In 2019, Lin obtained her PhD in Applied Psychology (Industrial and Organizational) from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Her research area mainly focused on emotional wellbeing, employee engagement, human resource practices, generational behaviour, and organizational leadership. She also has an MBA with a specialization in Entrepreneurship. Her research interests have expanded to career expectations, personality development, and emotional intelligence among Gen Zs and the future cohort of workers – the Alpha generation.

During her free time, Lin enjoys writing in her journals and volunteers at animal shelters. Her long-term goal is to empower the younger generation in choosing the right career and help organizations develop customized frameworks to manage across different generations by continuously contributing to the research field of her interest.
