Biography
Dr. Gonsalvez was the CEO & Rector at the Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MISI) from 2015-2021. MISI is an education and research center founded by the Malaysian government and the Massachussetts Institute of Technology (MIT). From 2010-2014, he was the Executive Director in charge of MIT’s Zaragoza Logistics Center(ZLC) in Zaragoza, Spain.
Prior to working with MIT, he was the Director of Global Supply Chain Strategy, at General Motors responsible for supply chain strategy, planning, and security in GM’s supply chains worldwide. He retired from GM after a 25 year career in 2008.
Dr. Gonsalvez has a B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Ohio State University. He has authored numerous articles in refereed journals and is a co-author of the book “Faster, Smarter, Greener – The Future of the Car and Urban Mobility” published by MIT Press in 2018.
