Overview
While change is the only constant in business, the most adaptable and resilient organizations in dynamic environments share a common trait: effective leadership during times of change. Such leadership ensures that business solutions remain innovative, even amid ongoing and urgent demands. It strikes a balance between exploiting existing opportunities and exploring future possibilities. It recognizes and responds to employee resistance with empathy and understanding. And it fosters a sense of security and fairness, even when certainty cannot be guaranteed.
Grounded in behavioral and psychological science, this course engages students through a variety of learning tools, including at-home videos, in-person breakout discussions, debates, case reflections, and interactive in-class activities.

To cultivate both an appreciation for and the skills needed for effective leadership in dynamic times and situations, the following topics will be covered throughout the course:
- Leading and motivating in times of change
- Hard look in change management
- Soft look in change management
- Entrepreneurship/Innovation/Intrapreneurship
- Integration of AI in work
- Error management
- Cross-cultural leadership
- Organizational politics and power
- Managing employee reactions to change
- High performance HR and perceived fairness
- Managing workplace culture and employee stress
This course will enable you to:
- More aware of the key factors that influence leadership effectiveness during periods of change.
- More attuned to the underlying reasons behind employee reactions and resistance in times of uncertainty.
- Better equipped with practical tools to drive high performance and motivate others.
- More capable of balancing immediate pressures with long-term innovation and strategy.
Managers across all levels, entrepreneurs, and those interested in understanding the psychological science behind leadership and people management.
Class Structure
Video Learning
Before the live sessions, you will watch short video lectures lasting 20 to 40 minutes and complete assignments to cement your understanding of the videos.
Live Sessions
The live sessions are held in hybrid format, beginning with a review of the video lecture and followed by a discussion of the case of the day.
Duration
The course is delivered over a period of 4 weeks (this includes time for learners to watch videos before the first live session)
