Biography

Nadia Zainuddin brings over 20 years of experience in capital market policy, regulation, and market development at the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), where she played a central role in the design and delivery of reforms and measures with long-term, market-wide impact.

Prior to joining ASB, she served as General Manager and Head of Market Structure and Policy at the SC, leading strategic initiatives to expand access to capital market financing for SMEs and mid-tier companies. This work required close collaboration with industry participants across private and public markets to develop financing pathways and strengthen the pipeline of high-potential companies.

She previously headed the Corporate Governance Department at the SC, overseeing major policy and regulatory reforms to enhance board leadership, disclosure quality, and advance sustainability and stewardship in the capital market. Her responsibilities included the design and rollout of national corporate governance and sustainability frameworks, significant updates to guidelines and best-practice standards for publicly listed companies, and contributions to regional and international policy work.

Nadia undertook a secondment to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) in Paris, serving as a Consultant on corporate governance reform initiatives across Southeast Asia and contributing to work on the G20/OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. She serves on the International Advisory Board of the Hawkamah Institute, supporting the advancement of governance standards across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

She is a Chevening Scholar and holds an MSc in Corporate and International Finance from Durham University, United Kingdom.
