Assistant Director, CDO

Position Overview

The Assistant Director role in the Career Development Office (CDO) at the Asia School of Business focuses on enhancing student engagement and employer relationships for candidates in our MBA and Executive MBA programs. Key responsibilities include delivering career education classes, fostering strong employer partnerships, offer career advisory support to students and maintaining operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience in career services, business development (or a related field) experience, had extensive experience in an advisor, coach or mentor, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in strategic planning and execution. This position requires close collaboration with students, the relevant functional colleagues, and external partners to ultimately drive career success for ASB graduates.

Key Responsibilities include
  • Develop and deliver career education classes, workshops, and resources tailored to student needs.
  • Identify new employer partners through business development work while maintaining strong relationships with existing industry partners across key markets in Asia to enhance employment opportunities for students.
  • Coordinate relevant career coaching and advisory needs through leveraging the panel of external career advisors.
  • Engage in coaching & advisory sessions with students for relevant career topics or needs.
  • Organize curated employer engagement activities to connect students with potential employer relationships.
  • Analyze employment trends and student outcomes to inform strategic planning and improve career services.
  • Coordinate the preparation and distribution of recruitment materials such as resume books, biotables, and other related collaterals to showcase student talent to potential employers.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives, making data-driven adjustments as necessary to meet student and employer needs.
  • Manage an existing team within CDO, assessing performance from time to time
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Career Development Office by implementing feedback mechanisms from students and employers.
Success Criteria for the Role
  • Number of employer relationships and job opportunities available to students.
  • Successful organization and delivery of employer engagement events as well as relevant career workshops.
  • Strong delivery in career classes/workshops that are engaging and impactful for students
  • Positive feedback from employers regarding the quality of ASB graduates for future hiring.
  • Timely achievement of other strategic goals and initiatives set by the Career Development Office, such as student employment rates within three months of graduation.
  • Ability to build genuine professional relationships with students and the team, guiding and leading with empathy.
