Professor Joe Cherian, CEO, President, Dean, and Distinguished Professor at Asia School of Business, attended and spoke at the panel discussion Making Progress on Pension Reform during the IMF–World Bank Annual Meetings 2025.

The session focused on how population aging is placing increasing pressure on the fiscal sustainability of pension systems, and explored the role of timely reforms, private savings, and well‑functioning financial markets in supporting long‑term retirement security. The discussion brought together senior leaders from international financial institutions, government, and regulatory bodies to exchange perspectives on strengthening pension systems globally.

Professor Cherian participated alongside representatives from the IMF and the World Bank, contributing to the global policy dialogue on pension reform and financial sector development.
