We’re very proud of our ASB students who were among the winners of the first virtual AI for Accessibility Hackathon APAC, hosted by Microsoft!
The goal of the hackathon was to develop innovative solutions to meet accessibility needs in the areas of employment, daily life and communication and connection. Team #ASBWeAllNeedToSee from Malaysia designed BlindIn.co, a job-matching platform for potential candidates to showcase skills and capabilities through videos using Azure Cognitive Services and Machine Learning.
The winning teams were chosen out of 181 teams from 11 participating countries, and scored $1000 cash prizes, the opportunity to work with Microsoft experts to build their solutions on Microsoft Azure, and have their solution available on the Microsoft marketplace in June 2021.
Congrats to Ilham Bazi, Ranjini Rayappa, Vy Nguyen, and Luiza Massari for making us proud! And kudos to Microsoft for organizing this event to meet important accessibility needs and showcasing the possibilities when Smart and Sharp skills are put into action.
