Leading Leaders in Action is a flagship program of the Iclif Executive Education Center at ASB, focusing on three key components: Leadership, Strategy, and Innovation. The capability apex of top-tier leaders.
This program is a week-long learning-in-action journey designed to equip leaders with the practical knowledge & skills to lead its people & business towards maximizing performance & delivering sustainable growth in this highly challenging environment. Building on decades of teaching and research experience of ASB and MIT faculty, Leading Leaders in Action combines leadership, marketing, product development, technology assessment, value-chain design, project execution, entrepreneurship, and talent management into an end-to-end roadmap for achieving breakthrough performance. Using an MIT-developed dynamic and integrative strategic value-chain suite of tools alongside a framework, participants will equip themselves with new ways of approaching its business, culture and strategy to be future fit in a world of increasing volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity (VUCA).
Leading Leaders in Action will help you answer questions like:
How do the most successful leaders pull together the vision, the ideas, the passion, and the strength to transform their organizations and drive them to success?
How do they empower teams that generate more than their fair share of great ideas and unleash the creative talent and entrepreneurial/intrapreneurial energy of their people?
How do they move those ideas through their organizations and supply chains that are not only creative but fast to market?
Participants leave this program armed with an end-to-end process and a leader’s toolkit: the capability to build up and channel their leadership energy, influence corporate culture, alter the way their organization responds to the challenge of innovation, and strengthen relationships with partners along the value chain.
This intensive learning experience will deliver long-term value, helping business leaders to:

Charles Fine has been a professor at MIT for over 35 years and has taught courses in innovation at the MIT Sloan School for almost 20 years. His current research centers on innovation and entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on value chain relationships and fast clockspeed industries. Fine’s work has supported design and improvement of value chain relationships for companies in electronics, automotive, aerospace, communications, and consumer products. Other research has addressed outsourcing dynamics, quality management, optimizing operational flexibility, design of transportation systems, and the evolving operational needs of entrepreneurial firms. He is the author of numerous journal articles and two books: Clockspeed: Winning Industry Control in the Age of Temporary Advantage and Faster, Smarter, Greener: The Future of the Automobile and Urban Mobility.
Chrysler Leaders for Global Operations

Prof. Dr. Loredana Padurean is the Associate Dean at the Asia School of Business, a collaboration between the Central Bank of Malaysia and MIT Sloan School of Management, and also holds an appointment as International Faculty Fellow at MIT Sloan. At ASB Prof. Loredana has been one of the key “nailers” behind the establishment of the school, and, in particular, has directed development of the globally recognized action learning program at ASB.
She is a global entrepreneurial academic with a track record of program, school, and intellectual leadership for multiple degree program business units, and she has been an international keynote speaker in the United States, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Her most recent research, “Nail it, Scale it, Sail it,” focuses on understanding the evolution of start-ups to scale-ups to sail-ups. Prof. Loredana has an MA in Communication and Economics and a PhD in Management from USI Switzerland.

Sabri comes with a wealth of experience after working more than 25 years in the government sector as well as in the oil and gas industry. His tenure at PETRONAS allowed him the opportunity to work alongside renowned organizations like McKinsey as it rolled out its Operational Performance Improvement initiatives and its Global Leadership Learning Series, which was made compulsory in more than 25 countries. His skills at Top Team Alignment has helped many Senior Management Teams improve their effectiveness in their leadership roles.
MUHAMMAD SABRI RAWI
Dr. Thun’s research and teaching focuses on dissecting complex management and business models and cascading them for easy implementation by companies cross different industries. His robust B.A.S.E. model has inspired numerous organizations in their transformation processes. He’s the author of the Brain-Based Leadership book series (2013-2016), a bestselling The Leadership Journey (2018) and is a regular newspaper columnist. In 2015, Dr Thun was the recipient of World HRD Congress’s “Global Coaching Leadership Award” and named “Consultant of the Year” by the Ministry of Industry, Thailand.

Renato Lima de Oliveira is an Assistant Professor of Business and Society at ASB who earned his PhD from MIT in Political Economy and Comparative Politics. His research focuses on state-business relations, particularly in the fields of industrial competition, innovation policies, and energy transition. He is also a research affiliate at the MIT Industrial Performance Center (IPC) and author of award-winning publications in his area of expertise.
