INTERNATIONAL LAW & GLOBAL BUSINESS STRATEGY

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Public International Law & the Private Sector provides managers with a strategic overview of interactions between multinational corporations and the international legal system. It explores corporate strategy, accountability, and responsibility with an emphasis on WTO law, international investment law, and the growing field of Business and Human Rights.

Fuller versions of the course will delve into potentialities and hot topic issues—such as the International Business and Human Rights treaty drafts now circulating at the UN—based on business interactions with the Protect, Respect, and Remedy Framework. The course seeks to inform managers both on how to strategically use international law and on how to stay ahead of the curve with respect to legal and normative best practices.
