This course is about money and how money moves. The aim is to provide frameworks to enable you to make sense of the explosion of new, fast ways of moving money, the forces driving the innovations, and the different roles and risks of digital currencies.

Anella is part of our Master of Central Banking team. Before joining ASB, she worked at the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, the Bank for International Settlements (Hong Kong office) and the Asian Development Bank. Her research interests are asset pricing, monetary policy, international macroeconomics and macro-prudential policy. She has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from MIT and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oxford.

Ong Shien Jin is a Professor of Practice at the Asia School of Business (ASB). His research interests are in Finance & Analytics. Shien Jin’s background spans finance, tech & academia. He started his career as a Quantitative Strategist at Goldman Sachs Asset Management Fixed Income, specializing in mortgage-backed securities. After Goldman Sachs, he joined the tech industry as Special Assistant to the CEO at JobStreet.com, the #1 online job portal in South-East Asia. Prior to ASB, he was a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Shien Jin holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from MIT.
