How long have you been with ASB?
I’ve started with ASB on April 1, 2015. It has been 4 years and 7 months, to be precise.
In one or two sentences tell us what you do? Or what your typical day looks like here?
I work closely with systems – Slate, SIS, Moodle – basically to solve/enhance business problems/processes. On top of that I’m involved with other duties in the Office of the Registrar.
What kind of project are you currently working on?
Slate – I’m involved in getting the application up and running for new programs– MBA for Working Professionals, Master in Central Banking, MBA Early Admissions. Also, in using the same platform to implement payment integration.
AACSB – I’m assisting in the process of getting the accreditation.
SIS, Moodle – looking into further enhancements to automate processes within the Office of the Registrar.
What are you most proud of so far?
There are many proud moments of ASB as we reach each milestone. The most recent one is having Tun Dr. Mahathir as the commencement speaker for our MBA19 Convocation Ceremony. Soon it will be the launch of new Campus – very impressive.
Can you tell me a little about the team you have been working with?
Besides Office of the Registrar team, I’ve been working with Admissions, IT, Finance team in ensuring the current projects are delivered. I would say the teams’ collaboration is strong and the members are very supportive.
What do you think is the most unique aspect of the company?
The uniqueness of our curriculum– it was a great idea to introduce it in Asia specifically in MALAYSIA.
What makes you good at your job?
Strong analytical skills and being ahead of working schedules.
What are the biggest rewards for working with ASB?
Professional and personal development. I’m appreciative of the continuous learning opportunities. Most importantly, as a working mom, the flexible working arrangement allows me to have a work-life balance.
What are some challenges you face in your job, and how do you tackle them?
As the Dean says, ‘It’s always day-1 at ASB’. We have challenges throughout the journey. Being a team player helps the most.
How do you think you can contribute to ASB’s growing success?
I’ve learned not to ask which seat on a rocket ship. So, with a positive attitude I am sure I will be able to contribute in my field of expertise to any projects that requires it.
What are the biggest advantages of working under an environment that is highly diverse in global range?
Intellectual diversity that contributes to the growth of the employees. ASB gives opportunity to every talented and skilled person to contribute to its success.
