Lee Dong Wook (DW)
Dong-Wook “DW” Lee has been with ASB since 2018 and currently serves as the Senior Director of the Career Development Office (CDO).
At ASB, DW has been involved in multiple areas of the ‘MBA Student Journey.’ He works closely with the Admissions Team as a Committee member and is also regularly involved with the Program Office and Faculty to support the School’s efforts in providing students with a balance between academics and post-MBA market readiness.
Prior to returning to career development, DW was also with the school’s Action Learning (AL) Team as a Deputy Director, promoting students in securing international experiential learning projects. During this time, the Team was honored as the Innovator Award winner in the Early Stage Innovation category by the MBA Roundtable.
In steering the CDO team, DW not only oversees the daily operations and external engagements with stakeholders, he – as a certified professional coach – also brings his international and diverse industry experience to coach and support students to build better self-awareness and executive presence. He and his team devote much of their attention to work with students in instilling the necessary knowledge, skills, as well as expanding professional networks needed to effectively navigate their MBA career journey at ASB.
Before joining ASB, DW held senior roles in different organizations across multiple sectors. DW was a Global Director at the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), heading the communications and partnership efforts of one of the largest youth organizations in the world with over 50 million members. Prior to this, DW was based out of Singapore and Seoul as the Regional Director of Global Alliances for one of the world’s largest education content providers, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, managing the APAC region’s strategic partnerships and business development. He has extensive work experience in the areas of sustainability/ESG, investor relations for the Korea Development Bank’s investment banking arm and SK Group, a Fortune Global 500.
DW is particularly passionate about advocating awareness of ESG in business practices, as well as promoting young people, education and learning. As a former Consultant for the Asian Development Bank (ADB), he was given an opportunity to work with ASB MBA students to generate and propose a 5-year capital market sustainability roadmap for the ASEAN Capital Market Forum (ACMF), which was endorsed by all Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors of the Region in 2020. DW was also a Teaching Fellow at Harvard College and an Adjunct Professor for negotiations and critical thinking at Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea.
Outside of family and work, volunteering is another passion of DW. He serves as one of the Board members of the MBA Career Services & Employer Allliance (CSEA) as their VP for International Engagement to promote and support the development of career service professions and employers around the world. He also serves as an Assistant Leader Trainer (ALT), working with other Leader Trainers across the region such as Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Philippines to help train adult Scout leaders better support the non-formal education of their country’s youth.
DW holds a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University with a concentration in Leadership Advocacy and Business-Government Policy.
