Biography

Enki Tan is Executive Chairman of Giti Tire Pte. Ltd., a tire manufacturer with plants in China, Indonesia and the United States. Its products are sold in more than 130 countries and to more than 200 OEM vehicle platforms. He is also Vice-President Commissioner of PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk. as well as Vice Chairman and CEO of Gul Technologies Pte. Ltd., a manufacturer of advanced circuit boards.

Mr. Tan is the Chairman and CEO of Gtech Digital Co., Ltd., an O2O retail, big data and electronic payment company. He is also CEO of Speedwork Group, an O2O auto-care platform operating in China, South-East Asia and USA.

Mr. Tan is also Executive Director of the Giti Holding and Nuri Group of companies and a member of boards of subsidiaries listed on Singapore, Jakarta, Shanghai and Australian Stock Exchanges.

Mr. Tan serves on the Board of Governors of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Automotive and New Mobility Group, and is a member of China Advisory Committee of the MIT Sloan School of Management, Board member of Conservation International, Board member of National University of Singapore, and Center for Nature-Based Climate Solutions.

As founding Chairman of Konservasi Indonesia, he has sponsored multiple ocean conservation and research expeditions. He has also supported formation of Marine Protected Areas and whale shark satellite tagging and protection. He created the “Blue Halo S” concept of “Conservation which pays for itself”.

Mr. Tan holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Sydney and practiced emergency medicine and anaesthesiology at Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong SAR and St. George Hospital in Sydney, Australia. He is certified by the Australian Medical Board and the Hong Kong Council of Medicine. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management.
